Job Description

Overall Purpose of the Job: Responsible for the implementation, support, and coordination of all regional trade activities to achieve key performance objectives for the department.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Planning and Execution of Trade Activities:

  • Compile promotion and sampling plans for approval in conjunction with the Regional Sales Manager (RSM).
  • Identify and compile annual events for approval.
  • Schedule and coordinate trade activities in the region.
  • Facilitate brand ambassador training and recommend deployment.
  • Ensure availability and proper management of all marketing collateral.

2. Trade Support Opportunities:

  • Identify opportunities for Enhanced Field Development (EFD) in trade.
  • Oversee correct product visibility and presentation in-store.
  • Identify in-store branding opportunities.

3. Category Management:

  • Monitor category performance metrics in assigned regions (e.g., category targets vs. actuals).
  • Analyze category performance in regional chain outlets and advise on areas of improvement.
  • Implement monthly category initiatives for the region.
  • Escalate category challenges to the respective Category Lead (e.g., short expiry decisions).

4. Trade Marketing Budgets:

  • Compile region-specific annual promotion, sampling (excluding Key Accounts), and events budget requirements for approval.
  • Create regional budgetary allocations based on strategic prioritization.
  • Maintain a log of all utilized budgets.
  • Conduct regular reviews of regional budget allocation and advise on areas of improvement.

5. Reporting:

  • Prepare and submit approved promotion, sampling, and events plans.
  • Generate monthly trade marketing activity reports, including pre and post activities and performance assessments.
  • Provide monthly regional category performance reports.
