Job Description

Job Summary:
The Senior Accountant is responsible for overseeing all aspects of finance and accounting functions, including supervising accountants, managing financial reporting, and ensuring compliance with statutory requirements and organizational policies. This role is crucial in maintaining accurate financial data, preparing reports, and supporting business decision-making processes.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Financial Data Management: Supervise the input and handling of financial data, ensuring accurate and reliable information is consistently available for business decisions.
  • Fixed Assets Register: Monitor and regularly update the fixed assets register to maintain up-to-date records.
  • Cash Flow Management: Prepare cash flow forecasts, monitor working capital, and manage petty cash and cash balances efficiently.
  • Month-End Closure: Ensure accurate and timely closure of books at the end of each month to facilitate the preparation of MIS reports.
  • Financial Reporting: Promptly prepare financial and management reports to meet statutory and stakeholder requirements.
  • Audit Coordination: Coordinate internal and external audit processes, addressing any discrepancies to ensure timely completion of audits.
  • Transaction Review: Review accounting journals and ledgers to ensure correct and accurate transaction posting.
  • Deputizing: Act as the Finance Controller in their absence to ensure uninterrupted departmental processes.
  • Stakeholder Relations: Develop and maintain working relationships with external stakeholders to ensure mutual understanding on financial issues.

Job Specifications:


  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field.
  • Professional qualification (CPA, ACCA, ACA, AAT).
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in a similar role within a busy environment.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Proficiency in MS Excel and competency in Sage Evolution or similar accounting systems and ERP.
  • Experience with payroll systems.
  • Strong multitasking abilities.
  • Excellent supervisory skills.
  • Effective record management skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • High level of integrity.
