Job Description
JOB DESCRIPTION – MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN
- Executing the preventive maintenance & condition monitoring schedules for all the machines and equipment.
- Keeping machines and all workspaces clean, tidy and maintaining hygienic practices that support the company food safety & quality programs.
- Taking daily records of Factory utilities i.e. Water, Power and Generator fuel / Run hours readings.
- Maintain machine reliability documents and reports.
- In liaison with Supervisors, prepare the lists & track inventory levels of spares parts for Plant Machinery and installations.
- Diagnosing faults and ensuring timely repairs of the factory machinery and equipment with minimal or No downtime.
- Participate actively in EMS and OSHA, ensuring statutory & company objectives are adhered to.
- Participate in FSMS and QMS maintenance by adhering to the set guidelines.
- Training of staff on machine and equipment handling and maintenance.
- Ensure all internal and external tools are properly used & managed.
- Participate in planning, installation and supervision of Projects & Continuous Improvement Initiatives.
- Conduct facility inspection as per the documented SOPs & guidelines
- Operation and Maintenance of utility systems (Water, Steam, Refrigeration, Compressed air, Electric Power, Drainages)
- Carry out any other maintenance & equipment operation work that may be assigned.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience required:
- Diploma in Engineering (Electrical or Mechanical)
- Minimum 3 yrs experience in maintenance in manufacturing preferably an FMCG
- Good understanding of Automation and PLC Systems
- Hands on with good technical understanding of Basic engineering systems
- Have a good understanding of HACCP or FSMS (ISO 22000:2018)
- Knowledgeable in OSHA.
- Can work with minimal supervision.
- Creative problem-solving skills – must be able to work independently, know or be able to source information to resolve issues with machinery
- Ability to read technical drawings, manuals and technical specifications
- Basic Computer skills
