We are seeking an experienced and motivated Accounting Manager to join our team in Nairobi. As the Accounting Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy, compliance, and efficiency of financial operations, while leading and developing a dynamic finance team. Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise, lead, and develop the finance team, fostering a collaborative and high-performing work environment.
  • Ensure the accuracy and completeness of all financial ledgers, overseeing the recording and classification of financial transactions.
  • Contribute to the preparation of monthly management reports, budgets, and forecasts, providing valuable insights into the company’s financial performance.
  • Review and oversee all financial transactions, ensuring accurate recording and entry into the ERP system.
  • Conduct regular reconciliations of subsidiary ledgers, including bank accounts, cash, vendor accounts, receivables, and inventory.
  • Coordinate physical inventory audits, providing comprehensive stock take reports and recommendations to company directors.
  • Establish robust internal control systems and ensure strict compliance with financial policies and procedures.
  • Verify and ensure the accuracy of all statutory deductions and tax payments, adhering to submission deadlines.
  • Properly account for accruals and prepayments, maintaining accurate financial records.
  • Maintain and update the Fixed Assets register, ensuring compliance with accounting standards.
  • Coordinate both external and internal audits, implementing audit recommendations and finalizing financial statements.
  • Manage tax compliance checks and oversee tax audits, ensuring timely and accurate submissions.
  • Execute month-end and year-end closing processes, overseeing necessary adjustments and ensuring timely financial reporting.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting/finance or related field.
  • Qualified Accountant (CPA(K), ACCA) and registered with ICPAK.
  • Proficiency in any ERP system.
  • Advanced skills in MS Office, especially Excel.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in auditing or accounting at a senior level.
  • Strong decision-making abilities with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Exceptional leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire others.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret finance data and make strategic decisions.
  • Proven experience in developing and implementing successful financial strategies.
